"Happy St. Paddy's day"

Hey Guy!

So to celebrate St. Paddy's day I have drawn a leprechauns Pot of Gold from the end of the rainbow. Well I say drew, but if you look closer you'll see that I didn't colour it in as I normally do. Instead of inking it in with pens or markers, I used watercolours because I finally managed to buy some new brushes! Watercolours, I have found, add nice light touch to any picture and you have more control of the denseness of your colour.

I've had a little bit of creative block this week but I'll still manage to get posts up for you this weekend, so don't worry!

"My New Years Resolution"

Hey Guys

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Today I'm setting myself a challenge, one of my New Year's resolutions was to upload on here more often.  So the other day I sat myself down and tried to figure out what I wanted to upload and when I wanted to upload it. So what I thought of was to upload two posts a week; one on Saturday and one on Sunday.  On Saturdays I'm going to upload something that I thought I'd call Sketch of the week which is basically just me explaining a picture that I have drawn earlier that week. On Sundays you can expect to find things like tutorials, reviews and my comments on different art related stuff. 

So that is basically it.  Thanks for reading this little post.

"The eyes are window of the soul"

Hey Guys!

Hope you are all well!

Today I will be doing something different. Instead of just drawing a picture and scanning it in and then showing you, I'm going to actually show you how to draw it. So, I thought I would start with something easy (sort of!)... an eye. Now personally I really enjoy drawing eyes and I hope you will too!

 

What you need:

1 Rubber

1 HB Pencil

1 Pencil sharpener

1 Smudge stump (If you don't have one of these I'd suggest you go and get one as they are very useful for smudging, but for now just use a cotton bud or your finger)

                               

 This is what you'll be drawing!

                             

So first start by sketching a long curved line for the top lid and then a short broken line for the lower lid.

                                      

Next do exactly the same just slightly lower and join up the ends like this. 

 

Then sketch in outline for the iris and pupil in the centre and then add a highlight in the top right corner of the iris. 

  

Now start to add lashes and to shade the upper and lower lids.

 

Next thicken the edge of the iris and highlight and shade in half of the pupil - smudge it with the stump until blurry.

 

Once you have done that it's time to draw the coloured part of the iris. I'm not to sure what to call it so just look at the the image below. 

  

Almost there now just thicken the lashes slightly and touch up anything your not happy with.

Although this is an eye tutorial I'm adding an eyebrow as well so just draw another curved line and thicken at the right end. 

And that is all you have to do although you can to sign and date your picture if you want to. Well that it for now guys hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and remember if you don't succeed the first time keep practising it'll come to you in time.

"Let's Get Ready To Ready To JUNGLE!!!!!!!!!"

Hey Guys,
Sorry about not uploading anything on Halloween I was just so busy these last few weeks but anyway this evening (as some of you may know) "I'm a celebrity" starts and also (as some of you may know) My cousin Union J's George Shelley is going to be one of the contestants this years so I thought I'd draw a picture of him to put up. I drew this using a Wacom Intous Creative Pen Tablet and Autodesk Sketch Book Express (I'll be doing a review on these soon!)

"Happy & Cute"

Hey Guys


So today to celebrate Halloween I am going to be doing a two-part mermaid series. A while ago Mark Crilley did two different mermaid videos - "Happy & Cute" and "Dark & Gloomy".  As it isn't quite Halloween I'm going to start with the "Happy & Cute". I'll also leave a link to the "Happy & Cute" video below:

"Bring It On!"

Hey Guys

Today I have drawn some fighting scenes from Mark Crilley's the Mastering Manga series.

The first drawing is from the second Mastering Manga book and is a classic fist fight scene.  My Mum suggested that I scan and copy the original drawing so I could keep the original and colour the other one in.  So here they are.

The second fighting scene is from the first Mastering Manga so I'm switching it up a bit.  Anyway I think it's a sort of Karate, but I'm not to sure.  I've done the same here as I did with the last pic so there is one coloured and one not.

"WHO'S A PRETTY BOY THEN"

Hey guys

Today I have some pretty colourful pics for you, DRUM-ROLL PLEASE, Polly and Roxy the macaw parrots. See I don't only do Manga ;-)

So the other day my mum was doing some spring (or summer) cleaning when she came across some an old seventy-two piece watercolour pencil set of hers, and she said I could have them.

First I decided to make a colour chart (I'll throw in a pic of below), but then I wanted to draw/paint something bright so then I thought, 'Oh why don’t I do a parrot?’ And Polly was the result. Then the next evening I did Roxy with some Sharpie pens I got a few weeks ago. I’ll let you decide which one is best.
